I never was a HUGE police fan and was more a fan of
Stings solo work. I do like a lot of Police songs and saw this concert just
to say I saw him live and also had an inkling of hope that he'd play
some Sting stuff. I've been to about 70 concerts in my life and that
only one's I've been able to say I was truly dissappointed in were Dave
Matthews in MSG a few years back and any recent Sabbath reunion tour /
Ozzfest. This show unfortunately will fall under that category. While
they did perform well, it felt like I was listening to the CD. I read a
review of their show from the Garden in NY and it was mentioned they were
very energetic... This was not the case here. Aside from the drummer
running up and down between his standard drum set and a special set with
different percussions, they were pretty much in the same place the
whole time.
I won't say they were BAD because like I said, I never
was a huge Police fan. But for people that go to see them because they
just want to be able to say they saw him, or that they are bigger fans
of his solo work, they didn't leave a great feeling for me after it
ended. Granted, he had the Flu the nite before and maybe that contributed
to it. I went to the hotdog vendor outside after the show and when
asked how the show was and I told him, he suprisingly said he's heard the
same thing by about 10 other people. Maybe it wasn't just me...
